Final- Theme 2

Meyrowitz was a man who came up with a theory; he believed that technology changes society. Meyrowitz’s theory was applied to relationships between people, but using electronic media. His theory was correct. Electronic media plays a huge role in the way people have relationships with others. Our world has changed from meeting someone in person, to meeting them through computers and radios.
There was a woman named Mary Dyck. Mary Dyck lived on a farm; this farm was mostly isolated from people. While Dyck did housework, she began to listen to the radio. She would listen to soap operas. After listening to the radio, she would keep a diary. In her dairy, she wrote about the characters in the soap operas like she knew them. She began to carry a para-social relationship with these people in order to keep in touch with the real world. This was just the beginning. When television was invented, people began to have para-social relationships with television stars. They believe they were best friends with them, even though they never met them.
After television, there came computers. On computers, there was IM-ing; when IM-ing was introduced, there were chat rooms; in these chat room people could meet complete strangers, but these strangers could be there best friends. After IM-ing, there came sites like myspace, Facebook and twitter. The sites like Myspace and Facebook allowed people to create relationships with new people. We, in our society, only meet a couple of people, but with sites like Facebook or Myspace, people are able to meet people from across the country; they develop these relationships that can last forever. There was a man who met his wife on Facebook; he was happy to have had a Facebook because it allowed him to meet his wife, who lived on the other side of the country. Facebook brought the man happiness.

Para-social relationships are seen a lot on twitter. Twitter is a website where you can post anything you want at anytime. Like Facebook, you are able to make new friends. The para-social relationships are made on twitter through celebrities. Since celebrities are on twitter, people friend them. Then, these people follow them; they act like they knows these people; they will talk about this certain celebrity as if they are their best friend; the weird thing is they never met the person.

An important idea, which is related to para-social relationship, is the idea of “ambient awareness.” This idea focus on getting to know someone because of what he or she posts on their twitter or Facebook wall. The person begins to believe he or she is familiar with that person. These sites have allowed people to go a bit crazy. Some people will come up to you and talk about a certain celebrity, but he or she has never met them before. I feel kind of weird, especially when they are talking me.

I feel that Meyrowitz was right about how society is changing because of electronic media. People, now a days, meet others through the internet and not face-to-face. It is scary to see how our society is relying on relationships through online, especially with people he or she has never met before.

Final-Theme 4

There was a man named Marshall McLuhan. McLuhan believed that media created new environments and new ways of thinking; he was right. Since the internet has been introduced into our society, things have been changing. Before the internet, people who had to research would use books; this could take along time; the internet made everything easier.
There is a problem with the internet and search engines like Google; the internet has made everything easier, but does it affect our minds?

People argue and believe the internet has made us lazy. We don’t really have to stress our brain about finding information. In the article, “Is Google making us Stupid”?, the author writes how the web is letting us forget about reading. There are so many people who have lost the ability to focus on a book; they are so use to reading something quick on the web.

The web is also affecting our memory. Since we don’t focus so much, our minds tend not to remember as much information as is should.

Another interesting article is, “Old Fogies in their 20’s”.
This article talks about how technology is becoming more familiarized by children. Children can go on a computer and do basically anything you need. It is amazing to see what a child who is 8 years old can research. This is a major problem because the children are being introduced to the computer to early. They are missing out on the skills of reading. Since books are boring to look through, and the computer is faster, children ignore the reading. This also is affecting their memory skills and focusing.

There is a big concern in reading. Since computers, reading has been declining. Now the reading industry is trying to bring back reading. They are making electronic devices, like the Kindle. This might bring an interest to the people. Reading has to change from books to e-books in order to get read. Another problem is reading is declining because kids don’t find it interesting or they are not as focus; it is true that reading something online is easier because you can browse around, but a book is becoming boring.

MacLuhan was right on how the environment we live in, and the technology brought into the environment changes the society. The way we use to think is changing. The way people use to find information is changing. I guess change is a part of life.

Final-Theme 5

In the near future, is it possible to see a battle between two huge websites; these websites are Google and Facebook. Google has been around for sometime; it is a search engine; it is something no one can go without. Google has made life simpler for us; instead of looking through books, we can just type it into Google and something will pop up. It is an amazing search engine. Then there is Facebook. Facebook isn’t a search engine; it is a website where you can meet friends, play games, and leave comments. Facebook may not seem like a search engine, but it actually is.

Since Facebook has come out, people do rely a lot on it. Facebook encourages people to use their friends as resources for information. Google may be the site where people always go on to find information, but what if you want to buy something and wanted a personal opinion; Facebook is the site where you can do this; if you leave a comment on your profile, someone will comment back; their information can be what you are looking for.

Even though Facebook is a useful site, I believe Google will be the more dominant one. Facebook can be a site where you friends can give you advice, but Google is a huge search engine; it allows you to find anything at anytime. Facebook is something still knew and probably will not last a long time, like myspace. Facebook does give the advantage of friends giving us information because they know us, but what if you’re looking for something, and where it is more affordable; you would just type it into Google, and look around until you find it. I feel Google is more reliable site.

Monetizing is an important goal for websites; it the way they make their profits. I think Google has the better possibility in being more successful in monetizing then Facebook. Facebook is site where it gets more of its profit from advertisements. Google also makes its profits from advertisements, but there is more. Since Google is a big search engine, business want people to click onto their sites; if the businesses give Google extra cash, Google bumps them up to the top; this allows Google to bring in more profit.

Facebook is the best site in using our personal data to help us “find stuff. “ Since Facebook is a site where we are connected with our friends, who know us pretty well, it gives us the advantage to ask and get reasonable advice or answers. Google will give you answer, but they aren’t so personal. The friends we have on Facebook are more of a help; these friends could have gone through it already. Facebook is better on handling personal data because of friends; these friends are real people who live here, and have a clue on what is going on. I think Facebook is more of help on personal matters.

Google has the best strategies to hold our attention. Facebook is a site where people can spend hours on, but we are basically looking at friend’s photo or comments. Google, with the help of advertisements, will keep us hooked. When you go on Google just look for something, you end up looking at something totally different; when you click on the site, there might be a pop up that looks interesting, you then click on it; this cycle might repeat. Google, with the help of advertisers, know has to keep us interested.

The battle between Facebook and Google might take a couple of years, but I think that Google will be the winner.

Final-Theme 3

It the year 2010 and everything is changing! The technology is becoming more advanced. The media we use to know is now all digital. Digital media made a huge impact on the users. The way, we the audience, use to listen to music or watch movies has changes, but in a good way. The digital media has allowed for better sound and color.

Digital media has been a big impact on many medias; it has changed the way we do certain things. There are many “old” medias that have had to adapt to change. One of these medias are books. Books are interesting, but not many people have time to read a book; people are always on the go. Also, a book it pretty big to carry around. Since books were dying, the tech people came out with new devices; these devices allow book to be copied; the books are made into e-books (electronic books); it makes it easier to read anywhere at anytime.
Some devices made were the kindle, the Sony reader, the iPod touch, and the iPad; each of these devices can allow you to read the book. The iPod touch and Ipad allow you to buy the book right off of itunes; this process makes it easier; people really don’t have to go to a book store and spend money on books, which will just take up space.

Another old media turn digital was film. Film shouldn’t be really called film anymore, since movies are all digital now.
Digital movies have changed the way movies are seen; it has made a significant change in the movie business. Since movies are digital, you don’t need to buy a hard copy anymore. Movies can be streamed to the television or the computer. There are websites that allow you to stream videos, like Netflix; Netflix allows you to watch videos online or stream them to your television for a small fee. The only problem is, movies that can be streamed off the computer hurts business and sales; this problem can be partially solve because, the owners of the digital movies can put a time stamp on the movies; this meaning when the website can actually have the right to air a movie; this helps the sales for movies increase.

The last old media that has turn digital is newspapers. Newspapers are read by very few people. The newspaper companies don’t really sell that many copies of the paper.
Since the change to digital, all the news can be found online.

Since wi-fi was introduced, people use their devices, like the iPod touch, to click and be able to read the paper online. People don’t have to be hassled by having to carry around the newspaper. The newspaper companies knew they weren’t going to last forever. When the internet came out, newspapers lost a lot of business. Now with everything being digitized, it makes it easier for people to read the paper on basically any technological devices.

In this new digital era, some media will last and others will go. I think that the radio will soon die out; the radio has been already dying even before the switch to digital; I personally don’t think just because it sounds better, makes it any better. The radio was dying before and will not last through the digital era.
I do believe that books will be a huge hit through the digital era. Books were becoming a bother to many people. People would have to go to the library or the book store to buy a book. Then the book would take up space. Now, with books being digitized, there so many ways to read. People can use a certain device to read them.

People are becoming well adapted to the digital media. It is making life simpler. We are able to read, listen to music, and watch a movie or television show, without having to be in a specific area. The digital era is allowing people to be on the move, but enjoy sitting on the train.

The Simpsons

The Simpsons is the longest running tv show. It has been on the sir for over 20 years. How can a tv show survive that long? The Simpsons are a combination of animated cartoons and a family sitcom; this allows the show to keep entertaining people.
The Simpson is a show that contains five main characters; they are the following: Homer, Liza, Bart, Maggie, and Marge. There are a lot more characters in The Simpsons, and in every season there is more characters added. The Simpsons is a show which allows whats going on in the world to be incorporated in the show; this is a main reason why The Simpsons has been running for so many years. If the viewer can relate in some way to the show, it allows the show to be significant in some way.
One thing I love seeing in The Simpsons is the beginning; in the beginning of ever episode there is always a different entrance. I love the entrance where the created Incorporated the iPhone. It was funny to see how Homer put his whole family on the couch by using the iPhone.

Another thing about The Simpsons is it is a funny show. It brings a lot of laughter to t.v. Other shows like Family Guy and American Dad don't even come close to The Simpsons. The Simpsons allows for people to take something serious and make it funny. It lets people relax.
Also with The Simpsons being a cartoon and not just a sitcom, the show is able to be flexible. The creator can have the cartoons do certain thing, like making things appear out of the blue. The thing The Simpsons doesn't do is kill characters and bring them back, like South Park.
The Simpsons is part of Cartoon Realism. Jason Mittell discuses this in his article. He talks about the critics who critic The Simpsons; this allows Mittell to understand how The Simpsons operate. Since The Simpsons mixes genre and cultural life, anything can happen. The Simpsons have been all over the world.
In the article people says The Simpson is a controversial show, but it is still successful. The Simpsons is a show that has surprised many people. The show allow so much diversity, which allows people to be interest. Another thing The Simpson has is there is no order; this means it does not follow any certain order. The episodes are always different topics.
When I was young, I would love to wake up early in the morning to watch Cartoons. I loved to watch Sailor Moon. Even though it is a anime cartoon, I loved it. It had five characters. The characters had powers, but Sailor Moon was the main character. Unlike The Simpsons, Sailor Moon does follow a story line, but that's one thing I really enjoyed about the show. It was about five girls who are normal, but then get powers. These five girls fight for love and justice against the evil minions. It was a show full of action and love. I am sad it was taken off the air. It didn't survive as long as The Simpsons, but it was an enjoying show.

Scary Movies

When I was about six years old, my brothers made me watch Jurassic Park. My brother told me, that it wasn't scary. My brother's were so WRONG!
The movie Jurassic Park started out nice. I like how they actors were going to explore the Park. It seemed like a family fun movies. I was wrong. While watching Jurassic Park, I never thought that the dinosaurs were going to eat people. Even though I knew dinosaurs didn't exist, it creep me out.
My brothers like to watch movies with the lights out, which made everything so much scarier. I was sitting in the dark and shaking. I was so paranoid. I didn't want anything bad to happen to the kids.
While watching the movie, I saw the dinosaurs weren't very nice, especially the T-Rex. I began to get scared, but my brother told me to suck it up, and the movie wasn't scary. So, I listen to them and kept watching the movie.
All of a sudden, I screamed. I was yelling and screaming. I said, "watch out" and "get out of there." Even though I knew they couldn't hear me, I wanted to help in some way. When the dinosaur was chasing after the children, I started to cry. I kept thinking the kids were going to get eaten. I didn't want it to happen. So, I started to scream, "run kids run, he is right be hind you." I didn't know what to do. It felt like I was in the movie trying to guide them through.
Later on, there was a man who went to use the bathroom. It was a port-a-potty. The man went all relax to the bathroom, when the T-Rex cam and ate him while he was in the bathroom. My brother thought it was funny, I though it was sad ans scary at the same time.
I did enjoy the end. I was happy to see the kids survived. I wasn't happy about what was going to happen to me. That night, I went to bed. I shut of the lights and laid in my bed. I fell asleep for a few hours, but while I was sleeping nightmares came. In my nightmare, I was in the Jurassic Park. I was walking along, when all of a sudden there is a T-Rex chasing me. I am so scared that I begin to run. I felt trap because there was no place to hide. When the dinosaur came close and was about to eat me, I woke up screaming. For the rest of the week, I couldn't sleep. I would go into my parents room and try to sleep there. Every time I closed my eyes, the T-Rex was waiting to eat me. I wanted to stay alive.
The scene where the man got eaten in the bathroom stayed in my head. During the night time, I couldn't go to the bathroom. I was so scared to go because I thought the T-Rex was there waiting for me. I though the bathroom at night was a unsafe place. So, I would stay in bed really uncomfortable because of my fear of dinosaurs eating me. From this point on, I never watched another scary movie again, even though Jurassic Park wasn't a horror film; it still scared me.
Clover makes some good points on what a slasher movies has to have in it in order to make it a slasher movie. Clover believed that teen go to these movies because it is a safe place; this meaning teens never have to go through being chased down by a killer. The teens can just focus on watching the film and being entertained. Sometime people, in general, want an escape. People want to escape into another reality where they can get scared. They enjoy it. I on the other hand HATE horror movies. The killer is the person who scared me the most, and especially the way he or she kills them. It is so gross.

While My Guitar Gently Beeps

In the article, "While My Guitar Gently Beeps," the author wrote about the Beatles and the game rock bank.
The author believes the game will put the Beatles back in the forefront of the evolution of music, but I don't agree. The Beatles were a great band, but putting them into a video game only really leads in their fans buying the game.
Children know a days, rather play games and music of now, not back them. I mean no on could ever replace the Beatles, but their music is old. I understand it was inspiring and a break through in the music industry, but now music is different. We have evolved so much from the 1960's. Music has changed so much. I mean with the launch of the Beatles games, it brought back their music, which probably was forgotten. Bringing out the game will allow people to not just purchase the game, but their Cd's, or songs on itunes. It allows a lot of other doors to be open; this means the game doesn't just make a profit, but everything else.
Yeah, the Beatles will always be popular, but not for many kids who play the game rock band. There are a lot of teens and adults who play rock band, but many others are more familiar with music today. Music is different. There are many genres. Kids prefer to play the more popular music the the oldies. People believe that bring the Beatles, would bring them back, but it is all to make money.
I really don't have a clue in what direction popular music will take. Since the music industry is always changing, music is also always changing. One minute rock can be popular, while in the next it could be pop. Children are always going to like what's "IN" style. I think the music is going to be more up beat and maybe with more meaning.
The rock band game seems to be a lot fun. My friends loving playing it; they have so much fun. I ask my friends, if they would be interested in playing the Beatles rock band? My friends answer me by saying, " We really like playing rock band, but we are really not into the Beatles." I think the game probably made a lot of money, but it is not the forefront in making the Beatles all popular again.

Pandora

Pandora, will it take over the radio? Who Knows?
Pandora seems to be the new radio station. It allows you to make your own stations by choosing the music you like best. Why go back to the radio, when Pandora can give you your taste of music? There will be no need to click around to find the station with the music you like.
Pandora allows you to write in either an artist, song, or composer, and Pandora will find you that artist mix with other music with the same genre. Pandora is allowing people to make a choice, and create their own station.
Pandora is mostly located on an iPod. It is a free application. With Pandora being on the iPod, it allows people to listen to the music they prefer. It gives them a choice. An example is, when your listening to your iPod and you wanted to listen to a certain type of music, and you don't have it, you can go on Pandora and create a station. It makes life so much simpler.
Also, Pandora's process at retrieving the music works great. Pandora allows you to search for what you are looking for; then it will search and find the certain type of music, artist, or genre. Next, the listener can go through the list and pick the music they like best. There is a thumbs up and thumbs down located next to every picture; the listener can choose thumbs up if they like the song, and if the listener does like the song, then it will become part of the playlist. If the listener doesn't like the song, the listener would pick thumbs down, and Pandora would skip the song. If the listener keep choosing thumbs up or down, Pandora will begin to understand what music you like. Pandora is a great help in finding music.
The only flaw Pandora has is how you can only skip five songs, and after you have to listen to a whole song, even if you don't like it, so you can look at more choices. If Pandora would take that restriction out, Pandora would be perfect.
Pandora has change the definition of "audience." The definition of "audience" has change because anyone can listen to Pandora. It doesn't matter what type of music your into, Pandora will have it. Pandora allows the search to be so much easier. The audience becomes a variety, since you are able to make a choice.
Pandora is successful, but it can become a profit-making medium, if it turns into a program who has advertisements; this means that when you skip five song or after every three songs, before you can move on, you will have to listen to an advertisement. This doesn't sound like fun, but all the money making business is in advertisement. People, in general, are always trying to sell, sell, and sell some more. If Pandora becomes extremely popular, then advisers would love to invest.
In my belief, the radio is dying. The radio is being taken over by applications like Pandora. Let's face the truth, people love when they are able to make their own choice, then people making it for them. So good-bye radio, hello Pandora!

Twitter

Last week, we were suppose to make a twitter account. It was my first time making a twitter account. I really wasn't into the whole idea because I really don't like twitter, but it was a school assignment.

When I started my Twitter assignment, I found that twitter wasn't that bad. I found it interesting. I thought it was interesting because you could follow anybody, even celebrities. When I log on to my Twitter account, I choose to follow a singer known as Nelly Furtado. It was pretty cool to see what her days were like and what she was doing. I did find Twitter to be annoying at times; people would go on it just to say what they are eating or doing at that exact moment; I really didn't care about people eating a burger or what kind of soda they were drinking.
Another thing I found interesting about Twitter, was how you can tweet something and people you have never met will response to it. I liked the idea of people giving their own opinions even though they don't know you.
During the time of this project, their was a problem going on between Cablevision and ABC. I was really annoyed of the fact ABC was going to be taken off of Cablevision. I decided to write it on my Twitter and people responded. The people either agreed with ABC or Cablevision, but they spoke their mind. It was nice to see people getting involved.

In the article, "Why Twitter Will Endure", written by David Carr, Carr believes that Twitter is here to stay. I agree with Carr. I believe that Twitter is making a huge mark as a online site. In the article, Carr says, Twitter is a site is which anybody can follow anyone. It is pretty amazing how you can follow a complete stranger and post a tweet on their Twitter about an opinion you had. Carr also said that Twitter is useful; this is true because you can voice you opinion or ask a question, and complete strangers will have a answer or response. People are communicating with others, which is increasing the online socialization's. Carr also states that Twitter can help you buy the right kind of gifts, like a laptop; this is possible because people give their information or idea on why they believe this one is better than that one. Twitter is a useful site for many people. Carr is 100 percent on track with Twitter being a enduring attraction.

Twitter fits into Winston's conception of new technologies and society because Twitter is a site that bring social change. Twitter allows for a link to be created between two people or more, who would have probably never met. It allows people to place their ideas down and for other "tweeters" to comment. It brings complete stranger together. Twitter is a simple site because you don't have to be friends will everyone who tweets you. Twitter brings stranger together on certain ideas.

Overall I did enjoys tweeting for a while, but I am not going to keep my account. I am not the kind of person who is always on the computer or using my phone. I have a facebook and don't go on it everyday. I do enjoy seeing new site coming out where people can help others without ever knowing them; this allows for change in society,e specially in the way of listen to completer strangers. I do like how you can follow the celebrities; I think is nice how the celebrities allow people to follow them.

Articles

Digital Mistletoe- I enjoyed reading this article. I thought it was really adorable how a man who was so alone and miserable found happiness using Facebook. it was nice to see that Facebook isn't just a tool to talk to people or read gossip, but to meet true love. I think he was lucky to have found that special person. Also, I think he was brave to actually make the attempt to talk to her.

In Defense Of Distraction- I think this writer has a point in trying to defend the advances in technology. It is true that jobs require the use of the Internet. We are so use to having the technology in our hand, I don't think we could live without it. I also agree with the fact on how we do rely to much on technology. I mean anytime we need to look something up, we don't use a book, we use the computer. It is like our lifesaver. Technology is advancing, we really can not put a stop to that, but I think we can help ourselves by not focusing on the computer so much. I think the write also poses a good question at the end of the article. I don't really know if we have adapted to technology at the same rate. I think we are behind, while technology itself is ahead.

Cellphones, Texts, and Lovers- I find this article to be weird. I don't think it is completely true. I find it disgusting on the part that people are using technology to hook-up with five different people during the same time. I think texting wasn't made for cheating, but to have conversation with more then one person at the same time. I do agree with the author on the fact that texting has gotten in the way of socialization. I don't think it is just cell phones, but technology in general.

Is Technology going to far?

On Thursday, we watched a video in class. The video talked about how technology had impacted our lives and how it has changed us. Technology has grown and we have grown along with it. The video was fine at first to watch, but then became weird.
During the first part of the video, it focused on students having the ability to supposedly being able to multitask. I found that these student, especially at MIT, couldn't multitask. The reason I believe this is because when the professor was talking and he mention that the mean average on the midterm was a 75, it was surprising. I think if students were focus just in the class and not on Facebook or email people, they could have gotten a better grade.
It was also amazing to see how these students were constantly on their electronics. I thought going out to dinner with you friends meant having a conversation with them, but I guess I am wrong. The students at MIT were going to dinner with friends, but really they were going to dinner with their cell phones. I find that really rude. I think those students have no self-control. I mean your with friends now, whatever is going on can wait.
The other part of the film that was strange was when they went to South Korea. In South Korea, the technology is so much worst. There are places were people could go and go on computers and play games. These people would spend most of their time on the computer, that some even died. That is crazy.
I also found surprising how South Korea took a step in trying to fix the problem. The government step up a camp. In this camp, students were sent to help get rid of their addiction to certain electronics, especially the computer. The students had to give up their phones for two weeks while staying at the camp. The students would attend meetings, like self-help groups. They would also do activities. I don't really think that going without certain electronics for two weeks would actually make a difference. I think it would just make you spend more time on the computer. I am glad to see that South Korea has started to think of way to solve the problem, but I don't think it is going to be that easy to solve.
It was interesting to see how South Korea was teaching the younger children the safe way to use computers, but I don' t really think this will work either. Children are small, so they tend to to do what they are told. When the children begin to grow, technology will be a huge part of their lives. I think teaching them how to use the computers safely is a good thing, but I really don't think it will work in the long run.
The last thing on the video talked about virtual world. This topic was strange. The part I found strange was the Second Life program. It was really weird. I think that technology is getting way to far. It is really weird having a virtual meeting on a computer screen, when all the employees are in the office any way. I find it weird that making avatars and having them speak for you in a computer is very strange. I understand that the virtual world system is good on communicating with people form other countries because you save a lot of money on traveling. I just don't get why meeting face to face isn't a better idea. I mean on a computer screen you can't tell how a person is feeling or even if they are acting sarcastically. You can only see the avatar. It's like they are playing with virtual dolls.
I really don't like the idea of the virtual world. I think technology is advancing to fast. I think communication was always best done face to face, especially if you in the same building. I have a feeling that technology is changing and will change socialization. It's sad to see how people are more entertained with people they have never met before because of playing games online. In the end, I think technology needs to slow down a bit.

Technology?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izCX7M5dcA0

I guess I am stronger then I thought. I actually lived without my iPod, but I guess now I am going to listen to it more then ever now. I am just glad that I will have my iPod back tomorrow. I guess what people say about the media is true. I mean now a days I don't think people could live without their phones, laptops, iPods, or television. We have gotten to use to technology that it has taken us over. I know I had a hard time without my iPod and that was only for three days. I don't think I could have gone a week or two without it. I don't think this is a good way of living. Technology has become a huge part in our lives, that if we ever lost it, who know if we would be able to survive.

Finally its over

Today is the last day of not having my iPod. I am pretty happy becuase I really need my music back especailly in my car. These few days of not hving my iPod, I have relized how important it is to me. I always wondered if I could live with the car radio again, and in a way I guess I could.

I think this project has helped me see how much I really do rely on my iPod, but it also allowed me to become more creative. It also allowed me to feel sad, mad, and happy at times. When going on a long drive with my friends, I was mad and so were they. Without my iPod, we had to come up with games to have a good time. It was fun to see how I could really live without my iPod. I know now that if I ever misplace my iPod or forget it, I can live without it.

It was fun to discover how hard it could be to not have your favorite and most valuable electronic with you, since your so use to it. Before my iPod, I was really bored of the car radio, that sometime I wouldn't listen to anything at old. I still know the radio is extermly boring, since it is always replaying song.

Anyway, breaking away from my iPod these few days wasn't so bad. I survived, but I don't think I would ever give up my iPod again especailly if my friends and I are go for a long drive. in the end, living without my iPod, made me become more creative and I found out it wasn't the end of the world.

missing the iPod

It's Sunday and the thrid day since I decided to give up my iPod. I thought this was going to be an easy thing to let go off, but it really isn't. Today, I took another trip with some friends. We went out east, and usaully we have fun listening to all different kinds of music, but today was so different.
At first, we were really bored because the radio kept playing the same songs over and over again. It became so boring. Then, we tried listening to cds, but it got annoying having to switch the cds all the time. My friends started to get really annoyed with me. They started to say, why can't you use your iPod. I tols them we have to live without it just for this weekend. So, with no good music playing, we were so bored. My friends couldn't stand being so bored, since it was a long drive. We started to tell stories and make up games. It ended up being a fun filled drive. I think if I did have my iPod, we would of had so much fun in the car.
I still miss my iPod, but I did enjoy finding out that without my iPod, my friends and I could become more creative and have a lot more fun on a drive. Even though my friends told me the next trip I have to bring my iPod, we all had a blast without it.

Goodbye iPod hello car radio

My iPod is my car radio; this means that I can plug it into my car and listen to whatever I want. Now that my iPod has been shut off for the time being, I feel a bit weird. I never relized how much I take my iPod for granted. Today, I went to watch my younger brother bowl, but the drive was long. I usually have my iPod to keep me company. I can just pick any song I feel like listening to, and hear it. Since today I had no iPod, I had to stick with the car radio. I've come to notice that listening to the radio is so boring. The radio either has commerical breaks or they replay the song over and over again. It tends to become very annoying. While driving today, I was annoyed that nothing good was playing. I started to miss my iPod. Then, I got some old cds, but it was annoying having to change them constanly because, I tend not to love every song. After playing around with my cds, I came to relize that my iPod is a really important part of me especailly because I can put any song and mix them up and listen to them all, without having to go throught the hassle of changing radio stations or cds. My iPod made my music life simplier. I miss it so much!!

snow

Since this weekend, we were suppose to get so much snow. I was glad that the storm missed us because whats the point of having snow with school. Now, its Tuesday, and were suppose to get hit with a another storm; this time it is suppose to hit us. At least if we get snow, hopefully it will be enough to cancel school. If its not then, theres no point for snow in the first place.
